The English iamb quests for truth;
Finnish trochee knows it.
“The ending isn’t known, forsooth!”
“Why then do you pose it?”
“We’ve been around a lot old chap!”
“Quiet. Sauna’s ready.”
“We’ve conquered, painted pink the map.”
“Finnish race is steady.”
“We don’t like Europe very much.”
“Neither does our Soini.”
“We think old Merkel’s lost her touch.”
“Nokia’s down the swanny.”
“We think we’re northern, just like you.”
“Hyacinth is funny.”
“They told me that you like a few.”
“Drink costs too much money.”
“It’s been a pleasure, see you soon?”
“Maybe in the summer.”
The English metre’s proudly hewn;
Finnish one’s just rummer.
