Morning Song (Aamulaulu), Eino Leino

Eino Leino lausuu Rantapuistossa

From Sata ja yski laulua (A Hundred and One Songs), 1898.

Echo, echo, this, my song,
meet the heavens’ pillow!
Morning’s breaking, washes wave
’neath the shoreline’s willow.

Sleep, oh sleep, oh sleep my heart,
this is youth’s gestation!
See, awakens everything,
all of the creation!

Fly O love above our heads,
soar above the mountains!
Even mountains cannot staunch
youthful loving’s fountains.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Nuku, nuku, sydämein,
nuku nuorta unta!
Katso, kuinka havajaa
koko luomakunta!

Lennä, lennä lempeni,
lennä yli vuorten!
Ei ne estä vuoretkaan
lempimistä nuorten.

Kaiu, kaiu lauluni,
kaiu korkealle!
Aamu koittaa, aalto käy
rannan raidan alle.
